JCI Pokhara : The Way Forward
(Youth Leadership-Translating Vision into Reality)
While celebrating 45th year of its glorious history, JCI Pokhara has already set a benchmark by producing countless dedicated young leaders. Since its establishment, it has been outstandingly contributing in individual development and community services. For past many years, leaders of JCI Pokhara have been representing as young active citizens in many national and international forums, and have literally brought positive changes within themselves and society.
Continual growth and change is what JCI always inspires. It’s not just about the present, JCI promotes long term development opportunity. Therefore, JCI leader is supposed to have a clear mindset and vision. In the year 2021, JCI Pokhara will explore youth energy and perseverance to translate thoughts and plans into action.
With the theme “Youth Leadership-Translating Vision into Reality”, JCI Pokhara is striving for the Way Forward with the 5 Years’ Strategies (2021 – 2025), a vision towards sustainable impact.
Year 2021: Member Empowerment
Year 2021 will be a foundation for execution of visionary 5 years’ strategies. Followings are the proposed major activities to be completed within this year.
- Quality Enhancement
Trainings and skill development programs are baseline for quality enhancement of JCI Pokhara members.This will be carried out in two stages:
- Foundation Training : To develop soft skills of its members which shall include trainings on leadership, personality development, public speaking, time management and so forth.
- Skill Based Training : To develop competency and hardcore skills of its members inclusive of trainings on real world businesses and entrepreneurship.
- Training Module & Curriculum Development
JCI has been able to create impact through training. Following the core value of JCI, JCI Pokhara has been designing and delivering youth oriented training since its establishment. Now, It is heading towards development of more structured & value based training. In the year 2021, framework for new training modules & curriculum will be designed more formally that will contribute towards establishment of JCI pokhara training academy aimed for 2025.
iii. Business Network
Beside trainings, year 2021 will be a reference to analyze and determine possibility for collaborative and organizational business. Based on different observations, field visits, studies & analysis, proposals will be drafted for setting up clear guidelines to develop business models and prototype for JCI Pokhara itself.
- SDG Based Projects
JCI Pokhara shall promote SDG based projects and involve to promote Quality Education (SDG 4) and Good Health & Well Being (SDG 3). It shall focus on imparting practical skills and modern teaching approaches to community level school teachers/students through which hundreds of students will be benefitted. We shall also promote health awareness and training programs, especially for women, in collaboration with “Pakheta Nepal”, a non-government organization.
- International Linkages
JCI itself is a global network. It’s for sure that extending relations and collaboration with the international LOMs will explore more knowledge and opportunities to learn about global trends, culture and practices. Such linkages will be supportive for members as well as organizational growth and development. In the year 2021, JCI Pokhara will have effective communication, connection & twinning with international LOMs.

Year 2022: Partnership Projects
Society is where we live in. It’s where we explore opportunity and it’s the place where we grow. More opportunities for individual or organization can be best explored through collaboration. Motivated with SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), JCI Pokhara, in the year 2022, will primarily emphasize on partnering with stakeholders either private, public, government or any others to explore the greatest challenges of our time and craft sustainable solutions. Such collaborations will help its members to arm themselves with new ideas and skills for solving individual or community problems and impart meaningful impacts in the society.
Year 2023: Leadership Development
Without doubt, JCI provides wonderful platform for leadership development. Apart from its focus on individual development through leadership skills, JCI Pokhara will promote its members not only for the leaderships within JCI forums but also in all possible sectors including Local, Provincial or National levels in order to create meaningful and sustainable change in society. JCI Pokhara, by year 2023, has a vision to develop such leadership to guide the society and the nation.
Year 2024: Business Development
Financial sustainability of any organization is a must to deliver its programs effectively. By the year 2024, JCI Pokhara has the vision of running its own business (SDG 8-Decent Work and Economic Growth) solely or in partnership with its members. JCI Pokhara has its well-developed infrastructure which shall be used to run its own business, while alternate business models shall also be explored based on the proposal materialized in the year 2021. Such project will help not only to raise fund for the organization, rather it will generate employment opportunities to its members. Main focus of the business will be to promote community products and services.
Year 2025: Training Academy& Golden Jubilee Monument
Year 2025 will remain very special in the history of JCI Pokhara. Firstly, it will be celebrating its 50th anniversary with a special monument targeting on Golden Jubilee Year. Secondly, JCI Pokhara will officially launch its Training Academy for conducting various professional trainings on soft and hard skills, whereby, trainers from JCI Pokhara along with other National/International trainers will be officially connected. The academy will be open for all learners inclusive of external organizations.
Conclusion
In a 5 years period from now, JCI Pokhara will attain a new height with more active citizens and more positive changes. Besides member’s individual growth, the organization will have more sustainability and valued recognition, thus creating a positive impact in the society, the nation and the whole globe.
