The power to change – Kiran K.C.

It seems natural that people are aspiring for some change in life. The poor are struggling for getting rich and the older for younger. People though do not actually possess many things in life, they always crave to accomplish them. But in reality, people achieve how they carry out themselves and what they deserve. Despite their strong zeal, many often they limit themselves to see things only in some specified directions and they are very less accountable towards the responsibility through which they could have earned their aspirations. To elaborate this, here’s a short anecdote.

A company was in huge debt and was soon going to collapse.  One major reason was the lack of responsiveness of its employees. So the employer came up with an idea to make them feel responsible and identify their own values. When employees reached the office, they saw a big caption on the front door on which it was written: “Yesterday the person who has been hindering your growth in this company passed away. We invite you to join the funeral that has been prepared in the auditorium”.  At first, they were shocked by the death of their colleague, but after a while they wanted to know who the man was who obstructed the growth of company and themselves.

The excitement in the auditorium was such that security agents were ordered to control the crowd within the room. The more people reached the coffin, the more the excitement heated up. Everyone thought: “Who is this guy who was hindering my progress? Well, at least he died!”  One by one the thrilled employees got closer to the coffin, and when they looked inside it, they suddenly became speechless.  They stood nearby the coffin, shocked and in silence, as if someone had touched the deepest part of their soul. There was a mirror inside the coffin: everyone who looked inside it could see himself.

There was also a sign next to the mirror that said: “There is only one person who is capable to set limits to your growth: it is YOU.” You are the only person who can revolutionize your life. You are the only person who can influence your happiness, your realization and your success. You are the only person who can help yourself.  Your life does not change when your boss changes, when your friends change, when your partner changes, or when your company changes. Instead, your life changes when YOU change, when you go beyond your limiting beliefs, when you realize that you are the only one responsible for your life. “The most important relationship you can have is the one you have with yourself”.

The morale of the story is that the world is like a mirror. It gives back to anyone the reflection of the thoughts in which one has strongly believed. The world and your reality are like mirrors lying in a coffin, which show to any individual the death of his divine capability to imagine and create his happiness and his success. It’s the way you face Life that makes the difference.

This also gives morale to the life to see things with diverse perspectives. There is always the other side of a coin each of us can see from different angles. It is up-to you which side you are facing or want to face. No one can make his or her life better by avoiding responsibility, rather believing yourself and being accountable to the responsibilities that your are assigned gives you the ability to respond to circumstances and choose the attitudes, actions, and reactions that can shape your lives. Responsible people not only depend on themselves, but show others that they can be depended on. This further breeds trust, and trust is a key that opens many doors. It also paves way to generate mindset of people that you are the one who can lead them, and they can follow you blindfolded. Responsibility sometimes requires us to do things that are unpleasant or even frightening, but at the end of the day, your ability to see and carry out things differently, genuinely and sensibly leads you towards a new endeavor. It also happens sometimes that we become victim of our own assumptions. We set boundaries for ourselves and thus we unnecessarily need to struggle to overcome the limits we have set for ourselves. The solution to this is to raise the bar for one’s oneself. Aim for the eternal horizon than just to set marks to your comfort distance.

It is not possible to go back and make a re-start. We can just start from now and give it a brand new ending, the ending that would be the other milestone to our aspirations. Learning from the past and exploring the experience to shape-up the future undertakings will definitely confer inspirations towards leading yourself to newer projections. In fact, we cannot change our past but we always have options to make our future better and that’s up-to you how you exhibit. Change is not just about how things transform or what happened in reality, it’s actually how you train yourself to restructure your thinking and accept the .

To conclude, changing our perspectives and acting real on the ideals of our responsibilities gives Power to Change and it actually is the key to success.
